Believe it or not, there are other reasons that make our guarantee a good thing. Let’s face it, we all occasionally fall victim to the “instant gratification” urges one can experience when walking through a mall and stopping buy one or two of the plethora jewelry stores in the mall.
Colored Gemstones and Diamonds

When evaluating a gemstone or gemstone jewelry, you want to look at it in a “neutral” light, light that does not affect the color of a gemstone. The halogen lights in most jewelry stores these days add sparkle and usually yellow. Fluorescent lighting will intensify blue colors or if they are the warm white tubes, they will add yellow. Incandescent light bulbs, penlights and candlelight will typically add red and red colors will appear more intense. Midday, early morning and late day sunlight will add blue or red depending on the time of day.
So, what is the best light in which to shop for gemstones or gemstone jewelry? Mid-morning and mid-afternoon sunlight is considered the most neutral lighting and the best lighting in which to evaluate a gemstone. Now, are you going to be able to shop for gemstones only during the hours of let’s say 9A.M. to 11A.M. or 1:30P.M. to 3P.M.? Are you going to be able to convince the jewelry store sales person to walk outside the mall with you so you can look at the gemstone or gemstone jewelry in neutral daylight? Probably not.
