What is Tourmaline?
Tourmaline has been used in jewelry since ancient times. They come in an unbelievable variety of colors. They often have two or more colors. There are even some that change their color based on the light source and some may even show a “cat’s eye” effect.

All tourmalines, depending on the angle from which you are viewing it, the color may be different or more or less intense. Tourmalines are 7 to 7.5 hardness on the Mohs scale so they are great stones for everyday wear. Pink Tourmaline it is said to inspire love, spirituality and even creativity. The best of the pink tourmaline colors is a pure bright pink. You will sometimes see the color referred to as “bubble gum” pink. These bright pink tourmalines are seldom inclusion free but the pink tourmalines with secondary hues of purple and red are usually inclusions free.
