What's the Deal With Brand Name Gemstones?

Welcome Back Gemstone Lovers!

I am so happy to be writing this post on my MacBook computer, as I sip my Starbucks coffee and tap my foot in my cozy Ugg boots. Out the window, I see a lady step out of a Volvo, carrying a Louis Vitton bag wearing Jimmy Choo shoes and rocking a Michael Kors watch.  Okay, back to reality. Most of that was not true, but I painted that picture to highlight the prevalence of branding in what we eat, wear, drive and beyond. Good or bad, practically everything has a brand and many people chase after brand names for a slew of different reasons. But have you ever heard of a gemstone brand?

What is a Branded Gemstone?

If you read my last blog post you know that we embrace gemstone snobs because it makes total sense to value a natural, untreated gemstone more than a fake piece of glass. But what about brand names when it comes to gems? Does the label really mean anything on gemstones? How does it affect the price tag? Is it smart to be snobby about a gemstone’s brand?  Today we will address the concept of branded gemstones, focusing specifically on our new line of Swarovski GemsTM.

So let’s back up. If you’re picturing a gemstone with a Nike Swoosh across the side or some other logo engraved into the gem, you’ve got the wrong idea. In the case of Swarovski GemsTM, the brand signifies that the gemstone was cut at the Swarovski warehouse using their precision cutting techniques.

What is Precision Cutting?

Swarovski GemsTM has perfected the art of gemstone cutting to ensure that every facet is perfectly symmetrical and aligned. Their special cutting method is famous for their “poetry of precision” which means that every single gemstone is uniform in shape, size, quality and color, with absolutely no color zoning. By cutting each facet so that they are perfectly symmetrical, the internal fire of the genuine gemstone is unleashed. The girdles are polished in a uniform fashion so that each gemstone is consistent in size, and to ensure that the stone can be easily set and to minimize breakage in the process. With an unwavering dedication to excellence, each and every SWAROVSKI GEMSTMstone is individually tested for quality. When you purchase a genuine colored gemstone from the SWAROVSKI GEMSTM line you can be confident that you will receive a superior gemstone with the highest standards of brilliance and precision.

What About Price & Selection?

When it comes to many top brands, people are willing to pay a higher price in return for a higher quality. However, surprisingly enough, Swarovski GemsTMloose, calibrated gemstones average at about $15 per gemstone, which is significantly cheaper than many other gems of comparable quality. On top of that, Swarovski offers precision cut gemstones in almost every color of the rainbow: Amethyst, Citrine, Rhodolite Garnet, Peridot, Smokey Quartz, Sapphire, and Topaz Gems in white, pink, green, blue, yellow, orange and red.

So Basically, whether you appreciate the Swarovski brand name, the state-of-the-art European cutting technology, the unbeatable price, or just the pure beauty of the gemstones being offered,
Swarovski GemsTMare a great choice for any custom jewelry project!
