Gold Gemstone Jewelry and Silver Gemstone Jewelry

The words “gemstone jewelry” doesn’t normally elicit thoughts of affordable rings, but AfricaGems.com can change those thoughts for you. We are happy to announce that we carry very affordable quartz set in luscious silver or gold.

Rare Gemstones?
Quartz is not a rare gemstone. No, it is actually one of the most common gemstones in the world. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t one of the most beautiful. The most common color of quartz is clear / white, but quartz comes in some of the most beautiful colors like smoky brown, honey gold brown, rose, lemon /green and one of the most unusual quartzes is rutilated quartz. The gemstone quartz family also includes amethyst, citrine, ametrine (part amethyst, part citrine), chalcedony, and prasiloite, gems we know and love.

By the way, if you haven’t heard of rutilated quartz it’s been around for thousands of years but never been wildly popular. It’s been kind of a “collectors” gemstone and it was used a lot in metaphysical situations but it is growing in popularity in jewelry because of the uniqueness of the rutiles. Rutiles are needlelike inclusions usually of titanium dioxide mineral that formed naturally in the quartz. Rutiles can be reddish, golden silvery, black or greenish. Check out the gold rutilated quartz ring (upper left) or the black rutilated quartz ring shown on the right.

Beautiful Faceted Gemstones
Be it in cabochon, checkerboard, carved or traditional faceting, quartz lends itself well to beautiful gemstone settings. Check out carved honey quartz and diamond ring on the left or the smoky quartz with the tiger stripe enamel on the right below. Check out all our quartz rings by clicking here. We carry smoky, honey, lemon and green, rutilated and rose quartz set in luscious setting in many styles but at very affordable prices.
