Fine Faceted Gemstones

AfricaGems.com is proud to announce that we have a collection of morganite gemstones for your consideration.

For those of you who love pastel pink, morganite is the gemstone for you. It comes in range of pink colors, from a pale pink through a lavender pink to a peach color to a salmon pink but they do not come in the intense color saturation of pink that you would find in a pink sapphire or pink tourmaline.

Morganite is a relatively “new” gemstone. True, it was formed in the earth millions of years ago, but it was only identified by the gemstone in 1911. It was named in honor of J. P. Morgan, a well known banker and gem collector. It is a member of the beryl family, and what a cool family to be part of – emerald, aquamarine, yellow and green beryl. Occasionally, you might see it advertised as pink emerald, but it is really a gemstone unto itself. And with a hardness of 8 on the Mohs scales it is perfect to wear every day in jewelry.

Gold Gemstone Jewelry
Morganite is perfect for setting with diamonds (of course) but it would also look stunning set with its cousins yellow and green beryl, and aquamarine. I have a suite of antique cushion cut beryls that would look fantastic set with diamonds in a pin / pendant. Do you know a Libra? Morganite is the astrological sign for Libra. What a perfect gift for those born between Sept. 22th through October 23rd. A pair of morganite briolettes set as earrings would be stunning.

Semi Precious Gemstone
It is said that morganite will put you in a good mood and who doesn’t want to be in a good mood? It is also said to relieve stress, nurture love, help one be patient and to enhance one’s communication skills. All of these things are things we can use in these trying times, right?

Natural Gemstones at Wholesale Gem Prices
All the morganite gemstones I carry are 100% natural and at wholesale prices. Click here to start your search for your morganite gemstones. Please note that morganites are somewhat "camera shy" and don't show their true beauty for the camera.
